2025 SBC Easter Monday Teams highlights

We had a good time on Easter Monday! We had a full hall in the 2025 SBC Easter Monday Teams congress – 24 Open teams and 10 Restricted/Novice teams. There was a very quality Open field with players coming from Canberra to Northern Beaches. In the separated Restricted/Novice field, 8 teams are Novices and 2 Restricted – we should be proud of our teaching programme!

Our bridge players also showed their humour side on picking their team names – Harry’s Crown (the two pubs down the road), the Black Adam and White Poynters (cleverly formed by the surnames of two members), Ruff Enough (from a humble Restricted team), AAAH (initials from each team member’s first name) and Diamond In The Ruf (that shines and won 2nd in the Open!) to name a few.

Congratulations to the winners:

OPEN

1st Open – Yiwei Qi, Aadhi Hariharn, Adrian Le and Susan Humphries
2nd Open – Terry Palmer and Mick McAuliffe. Richard McAuliffe and Leigh Matheson absent.
3rd Open – Mary Anne Loveridge (Chairman) presented prizes to David Wiltshire, Tania Lloyd and Hugh Grosvenor. George Kozakas absent.

Our next congress will be the Xmas in Winter Pairs and Teams on 2nd and 3rd August 2025. It’s already open for entry on MyABF! You can choose to play one day Pairs on Saturday or one day Teams on Sunday, or play in both events. Cozy Christmas themed refreshment and lunch included.

We look forward to seeing you again in any of our club events and congresses!
