Do you have any Gold points in your Masterpoints portfolio? The top half of the field (each direction) will earn Green masterpoints in normal club sessions. Then you will earn Red masterpoints in congresses and some special club events (e.g. the SBC Easter Monday congress and the Cancer Council Morning Tea). GOLD masterpoints can only be collected from national events, which usually involve interstate travelling and accommodation arrangements. The GNOT CQE (Grand National Open Teams Club Qualifying Event) is the ONLY Gold point event that can be run in a club. Like the sound of it? Pencil the event in your diary:
- Date: Over 3 Thursday on 19th, 26th June and 3rd July 2025
- Time: 10.00am – 1.15pm
- Venue: City, Level 1, 162 Goulburn Street, Surry Hills
- Table Fee: Extra $5 per session (this will cover the levies of ABF, Bridge NSW, Gold masterpoints fee and the sponsorship for the SBC representatives in the Metro Final)
- IMPs Pairs Scoring. The 2 Best out of 3 Results counted – play all 3 sessions and drop your worst score!
- You don’t need to form a team to participate, just play like normal pairs duplicate. The winning pairs will form team(s) to play in the face-to-face GNOT Metro Final in our clubrooms on 23rd – 24th August. We will sponsor one-seventh of the field to represent SBC in the Metro Final (estimate 1-2 teams). To be eligible to win, one team must be SBC members.
- No need to book in advance. Walk-ins and visitors are welcome, to experience it! Of course, playing with a partner of your choice should give you higher chance to win.
Thursday morning Open and Supervised session @ Canada Bay will run as normal club duplicate session, matchpoint scoring.
