A fun way to learn – Workshop with Will Jenner-O’Shea
The SBC Workshop runs approximately once a month, usually on a Friday. It is a combination of lessons and practice hands – a fun learning for all levels of players.
The next Workshops are now open for booking:
- Friday May 17th – Declarer Play [flyer] We will go through Bergen Raises after a Major Opening to get to the best contract. Handle Poor Splits, Handle 4-4 fits, Manage Weak Trump Suits. Count and Remember Which Cards Have Been Played. Count the Distribution of the Suits Quickly and Easily. Introduce and Practice Bergen Raises.
- Friday June 21st – Common Bidding Errors and How To Avoid Them [flyer] Avoid Getting Too High With Weak Hands. Which Bids Are Forcing And Not. How To Understand Reverses Better. Practice The Fourth-Suit Forcing Convention.
- Saturday June 22nd (half day) – Revise Your Fundamental Opening Bids and Responses [flyer] Opening Weak Twos, and What To Do Next. Opening 1NT and 2NT, and What To Do Next. Practice Some Good Play And Defence Techniques.
For Friday Workshop $60 for members $65 for visitors. $30 for Youth players. A delicious morning tea and a light lunch are included. These workshops run from 10am until around 3pm (later if you wish to practise more) at Goulburn Street. An all-day practical lesson with Notes and Tips provided. Suitable for Intermediate / Open / Advanced level.
For half-day Workshop on Saturday, $30 for members $35 for visitors and $15 for Youth players. A substantial morning tea is included. These workshops run from 10am until 1pm. The half day workshops are designed for players of specific levels.
